Road Users Urged to Obey the Signs at Cikini Station Pelican Crossing

We ask them to use the facilities to prevent congestion

This appeal is intended to maintain the smooth flow of vehicle traffic, as well as the safety and comfort of pedestrians crossing in the area considering traffic congestion still often occurs due to low awareness among road users.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo asked residents to obey the existing traffic signs and to cross at designated crossings.

Further, online motorcycle taxi drivers are also urged not to stop or wait in the sidewalk area located right near the pedestrian crossing.

He asserted, official drop-off and pick-up points are available for drivers, located on the south side of the station (across from Pegangsaan Timur Bus Stop) and on the north side of the station (in front of Menteng Executive Apartment).

"We ask them to use the facilities to prevent congestion," he expressed, Wednesday (10/8).

He explained Dishub also continues to educate road users in Cikini area. Through direct outreach on the ground and the installation of additional signs, people are expected to become more accustomed to using the pedestrian crossing correctly.

This step also serves as part of the Jakarta government's efforts to create a safe, orderly, and pedestrian-friendly urban transportation system.

"Hopefully, activities and mobility around Cikini Station can run more smoothly without significant obstacles," he hoped.
